Equinox Musings Newsletter |

|
Dear Friends,
Thank you for being there - it has been over a year since I was last in touch. If you would like to no longer receive correspondence from me in this way you can click "unsubscribe" at the bottom of this e-mail.
Wow, how much has changed in a year! I am currently writing to you from the UK where I was lucky to spend equinox morning at Stonehenge. Sacred sites fascinate me and inspire me deeply. I have been back here in the land of my birth, as I write my second book which is all about holistic mental health care and my own journey of healing.
I want to provide helpful info in this newsletter so it will include some intuitive guidance for the season ahead, and then some info about my new podcast, an event I am part of and finally some online offerings that I have for the remainder of the year.
After teaching yoga online from 2020-2021 I became quite ill with recurrent migraines. This was a tough experience and I realized that I am not meant to spend most of my life indoors glued to a screen, nor do I believe that I can effectively teach my ancestral practices online in that way. As one door closed, another opened. I stepped back from all my corporate wellness work to focus more on intuitive readings, tending to the earth / gardening / growing food and medicine, and expanding my healing offerings, as well as visioning a farm and retreat space.
My family and I purchased 4 acres of land in 2021, and this was a life changing decision that happened right smack in the middle of my saturn return (for all you astrology nerds out there - you know saturn return can be TOUGH!). Buying land with my parents has proved to be very challenging and we are still figuring out the legalities of how to make it work.
In the mean time, I have a solid business plan and am looking at potentially finding investors and friends to create something beautiful on Vancouver Island in conjunction with my family project on the Sunshine Coast. Let me know if you or anyone you know is interested in wellness, nature reconnection, retreats, and regenerative / sustainable agriculture! I am learning all I can about it at the moment.
Taking a decolonial and holistic approach to land stewardship (regenerating soil, working with indigenous peoples and indigenous plants, and operating from a new paradigm of spiritually led business) has proved incredibly healing and enriching for my learning. For the first year after we acquired the land, I sat with the land each month to listen to her and the entire eco-system, and what came through is that it would not be wise to break ground until 2024. So I am listening, and exploring some other avenues of research, travel, writing, and expansion in the mean time.
Equinoxes are times of balance, healing, reflection, and transition. May your autumn be filled with coziness and healing. I hope you enjoy this newsletter.
Lots of love,
Emmy

An Intuitive Tarot Reading for the Autumn Ahead!! |
|
|
|
The only card deck that I brought with me to Europe is "The New Chapter Tarot" ( https://www.tarot.com/tarot/decks/new-chapter) and while I am by no means an expert tarot reader, I do read cards intuitively. So I asked for some higher wisdom for this group to receive some helpful info about the season ahead (next 3 months) and here is what came through for you. Take what resontes and leave the rest.
1) The 4 of cups signals a time of going inward, of balance and rest. Rejuvenation happens invisibly sometimes. Don't hesitate to go inwards to find your own truth, since the outside world mirrors our internal state. Taking the time to be with oneself allows for the beautiful blossoms of the spring to be harvested and also to plant seeds for what will bloom next spring.
** Welcoming the uncertain, the unknown, and acknowledging what 'too comfortable' is for you... letting go of mediocrity. The feeling of 'not yet' internally - silence, contemplation and stillness. Answers are born from stillness. Don't rush to conclusions or feel like you need to figure anything out.
2) The queen of disks is about embodying our true self worth. Do not undervalue yourself. Know that you are worthy of all of the riches in the world. Choose to see your worth and do what feels right to your soul. Even if it means letting down other peoples' expectations or releasing the ideas of who you thought you were. Allow new parts of your identity to emerge slowly. Embodying abundance is a practice. Don't settle for anything less than what you know your heart desires
** Take care of physical and emotional needs of yourself. Treat yo'self!
Slowness wins the race, embrace the comfort, beauty and coziness of Fall
Calmness exudes warmth.
3) The 9 of disks is a completion of a journey. Look back on this year, what has it taught you that you will remember? Crystallize your key learnings and release the old. Thank whatever you are letting go of and choose to welcome in something new and improved, don't be afraid of goodbyes and the in between stages, they are ripe with the presence of the unknown....and in this void, relax, know that everything is born from the darkness and safety of the womb.
**You are surrounded by abundance and gifts. Change your mindset from scarcity to the possibility that there is plenty to go around, enjoy your prosperity. Savour the little things.

I started a podcast!! I am thrilled to be the host of "the Love Exposure Podcast" named after my first book. The Love Exposure Podcast focuses on themes of healing, emotions, relationships and sexuality. It was inspired by an ex-boyfriend of mine who said there are not enough resources to help men through break ups, so I focus on a lot of themes surrounding the masculine and feminine inside all of us, and how we can navigate our relationships with more grace and ease. I have two interviews up at the moment with two great friends of mine - Warren Hooley and Glenn Deefholts as well as a guided meditation on self-love and a short introduction to what the podcast is. If you would like to be interviewed, please let me know! It is all about real stories and real people.

Autumn Offerings:
I am feeling really grateful to be stepping into offering intuitive readings and soul coaching for others. You can book a 30 min taster session or a 1 hour session via my website here: https://www.emmychahal.com/services
I have known for a very long time that I have skills as a clairvoyant, empath, medium and intuitive writer but coming out of the "psychic closet" has been a very tough thing for me. I believe we are all intuitive and psychic as children (in different ways) and when I was 20 I experienced a kundalini awakening that brought many of my gifts back online. That is a big part of the book I am writing and learning to trust myself and my intuition has been a real journey.
Developing my intuition through my healing practice is one of the deepest honours and joys of my life. Holding space for others to connect with their higher self, discover clarity, and choose to heal is such a gift.
If you would like to experience an intuitive reading / soul coaching session I am offering 15% off the first session for all my newsletter clients. I cherish every client I get to connect with, and I am so deeply nourished and grateful to be able to do this kind of work.
I don't believe in telling peoples' futures, nor do I believe in giving our power away to healers, seers, teachers, or spiritual people in any way. My work is focused on empowerment, compassion, and holding space for understanding the current energies at play in your life and how you can choose the highest path based on your own inner healing. I also operate with a high degree of integrity and ethics rooted in trauma informed, and consent - based principles. |

Sneak Peeks & Gratitude (for what is to come and what came before)
If you are curious about joining an accountability group, I am working on a new moon membership that will be focused on incubating our personal and professional dreams (especially dreams focused around returning to the earth, wellness, etc).
You can follow some of my preliminary thoughts about land stewardship, retreats, and nature reconnection on my instagram @emmychahal as well as @heartlightacres .
I am traveling for at least the next 3-6 months visiting different communities and farms researching and also writing my next book about holistic mental health. It has been a time of deep trust and surrender, living in the present moment and not necessarily always know what is next.
I recently completed my doula training last spring with Continuum Doula Training in the UK, hope to do some more whole foods training and eventually create some postpartum offerings for women as well as dreaming up beautiful places for couples and women to birth in nature.
I am really inspired to deepen my bodywork and intuitive energy massage practice for women. This summer I received a private grant to offer yoga and bodywork to farmers and getting to partner with two farms on the Sunshine Coast was incredible. Hoping to do some more study with Arvigo Mayan Abdominal Massage, Indian Head Massage, Ayurveda, and Herbs. I also had the chance to fulfill my life long dream of being a mocktail bartender at my friend Katie's amazing concert at the Gibsons Farm.
I lived on Vancouver Island for most of the summer and one day while swimming at Qualicum Beach, there was a humpback whale 500 meters away and it was incredible. Wild swimming and cold plunges has helped me a lot.
Doing a traditional archery retreat off-grid on a 1700 acre ranch with two wild horses, with my rad friend Mikhel and new community connections at Wayfinder Archery in California was epic.
I was grateful to have the opportunity to teach this summer at Bass Coast, Spirit Weavers in Northern California, and at my friend's beautiful tea house in San Diego. I still offer Cultural Awareness Training and Ancestral Healing for Yoga Teachers. Hoping to expand into offering some retreats in the future.
Grateful for kareoke, community living, trades like carpentry, blacksmithing, carving, agricultural workers, amazing food, cute coffee shops, open mics, the freedom to discover our raw and intimate selves, vulnerable conversations about healing with people from all walks of life, poetry shared between friends, and the healing powers of water (rivers, oceans, lakes, spring water, etc).
AND most of all - thank you to YOU for reading all the way through.
Reach out anytime, we are all in this together.
Much love, peace, and gratitude to all living beings. xoxo
